Synopsis
Guy Gardner's battle with the armored killing machine Militia-secretly Guy's own brother, Mace-reaches a shattering conclusion that inspires Gardner to assume his new superhero name, Warrior.
Plot Summary
After the events in Guy Gardner #16, Guy flies to Baltimore to do one of the hardest tasks he's ever needed to complete. confronting his abusive father. Sadly when he gets to his childhood home and confronts his mother, Guy learns his father is dead. Apparently, he died just after Guy left and his brother committed suicide, he is buried in Pine Lawn Memorial.
Meanwhile back in New York City, Militia and Quorum continue their search of Guy, coming up blank. Militia is getting frustrated at Quorum's lack of success and Quorum is getting annoyed at Militia's outbursts.
Back in Baltimore, Guy is not sure what to go with rage he has inside now that his father isn't there, so after having time with his mother, he decides to go for a flight. This is how Militia finds him and blindside attacks the hero.
The pair fight and fly but when Guy's ring runs out of power, and Militia's suit shuts down. Guy is able to escape but he realizes he might need something more reliable, so he goes to see Ted Kord, who makes him a Warrior suit.
Also, unbeknown to Guy, Tora has been having some second thoughts about staying with the hero.
